About the Role

**Data Center Network Engineer - Hybrid**

At SYSTEMTEC, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Center Network Engineer to join our team. This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in data center core networking and the ability to design, implement, and manage complex network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and architect enterprise-level networks that meet the needs of our organization.
  • Responsible for the core network environment and data center to data center communications.
  • Plan and implement improvements, modifications, or replacements of network infrastructure components to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyze network performance across our LANs, WANs, and wireless deployments to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure the stable operation and efficient performance of our division networks.
  • Monitor system capacity to determine its effect on performance and recommend enhancements to meet new or changing network demand.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 12 years of networking experience.
  • Expert-level knowledge of data center core networking, with the ability to teach and mentor junior network engineers.
  • CCNP certification and 3+ years of experience, or equivalent knowledge without certification.
  • Hands-on technical knowledge of networking systems, protocols, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN technologies.
  • Experience working with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Experience working in an enterprise switched and routed environment.
  • Working knowledge of Cisco 9k switches and Cisco Nexus Switches.

Work Environment:

This is a hybrid role that requires 3 days on-site and 2 days remote work from our Richmond, VA location.
