Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Laboratory Specialist to join our team at Interpath Laboratory in Pendleton, OR. As a key member of our laboratory operations team, you will be responsible for handling all aspects of clinical laboratory operations, including patient reception, specimen collection, processing, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Providing excellent customer service and interacting effectively with patients and team members
Retrieving blood samples and other specimens, preparing them for laboratory testing, and performing screening procedures
Verifying specimen information, performing data entry, and properly identifying patient information
Receiving, processing, and packaging samples for referral labs while maintaining specimen integrity

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent
Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with patients and team members
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in all tasks
Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently

Work Environment:

Our laboratory setting includes numerous automated machines that make humming and beeping sounds. You will be regularly exposed to infection by handling potentially infectious samples and must be able to hear in order to monitor alarms and respond to any safety hazards in a timely manner. You will be required to wear appropriate protective gear, including a lab coat, gloves, goggles, and face shield. You must be able to sit, stand, kneel, crawl, bend, and twist as needed, and walk on non-level surfaces, inside and outside the office, throughout the day. You will be required to lift up to 30 pounds and work long hours, and overtime, as needed.
