Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Bilingual Healthcare Interpreter to join our team at Cabarrus Rowan Community Health Centers. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in facilitating communication between patients and medical professionals, ensuring that our patients receive high-quality care regardless of their language proficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and timely interpretation services between patients and medical staff in a variety of clinical settings.
  • Conduct phone interviews, coordinate appointments, and document relevant information under the direction of the provider.
  • Travel to satellite offices, contractor offices, and community outreach centers as needed.
  • Interview patients to gather information on medical histories and patient complaints/concerns/questions, and translate information into English-written medical records.
  • Assist providers in educating patients on diseases, disease prevention, clinic procedures, immunization schedules, and health management.
  • Translate written health care materials, health education materials, and administrative forms from English into a specified language as requested.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities by initiating or contributing to monitoring, measuring, analyzing, improving and/or controlling program goals, objectives and/or services.

Requirements:

  • Fluent in English and the specified language(s) both in verbal and written communication.
  • Minimum two years of experience as a professional healthcare interpreter.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology in English and the specified language(s).
  • Familiar with basic computer operations and good verbal and written communication skills in English and the specified language(s).
