About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled R&D Mechanical Engineer to join our Interventional Cardiology Coronary Therapies Mechanical Engineering team at Boston Scientific. This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your expertise in mechanical design and development to create life-changing medical devices that improve patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical components of medical device systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate customer needs into product requirements and design specifications.
- Develop and execute test methods for evaluating product requirements and design specifications.
- Provide clear communication to stakeholders, including technical documentation and presentations.
- Assist in the commercialization of proposed designs, working closely with Packaging, Labeling, Manufacturing, and Supplier Engineering/Quality teams.
- Work cooperatively with Process Development, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, and Marketing teams to ensure project success.
- Maintain compliance with all documented quality processes and procedures, demonstrating a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Biomedical.
- Bachelor's Degree with 3 or more years of experience OR Master's Degree with 2 or more years of experience.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Excellent MS Office suite skills.
- Experience with medical device or regulated industry design control process and documentation.
- Experience with SolidWorks, working with suppliers, and/or type testing.
- Experience with machined, sheet metal and/or injection molded component design for manufacturability and assembly.
- Experience with rapid prototyping technology to accelerate proof of concepts.
- Experience with electro-mechanical systems.
