Job Title: Nurse / RN Circulator

Job Summary:
Verovian Healthcare Recruitment Agency is seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) Circulator to join our dynamic surgical team in Lexington, Kentucky. As a key member of the operating room team, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality patient care during surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and sterile.
  • Verify patient identity, surgical site, and consent forms before the procedure.
  • Assist the surgical team by passing instruments and supplies, ensuring the surgical field remains sterile.
  • Monitor the patient's vital signs, comfort, and safety throughout the procedure.
  • Document all aspects of patient care during surgery, including medications administered and any changes in the patient's condition.
  • Act as the patient's advocate, ensuring their needs and preferences are communicated to the surgical team.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
  • Assist with post-operative care, ensuring patients are safely transferred to the recovery room.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized operating room, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Current Registered Nurse license in Kentucky.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an operating room or surgical setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and infection control practices.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Commitment to patient safety and high-quality care.
