About the Role:

Lutheran Social Services of IL is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team on a part-time basis. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the physical plant and grounds of our designated facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our clients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance, janitorial duties, and repairs of buildings and grounds, ensuring that all facilities are well-maintained and in good working order.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Report needs for major repairs and ensure that all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with safety, licensing, regulatory, and agency requirements.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Implement and manage a preventive maintenance program to ensure that all equipment and systems are properly maintained and functioning efficiently.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergencies and perform on-call service as scheduled.
  • Client Service: Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and treat clients, families, and colleagues with dignity and respect.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, or six (6) or more months of maintenance-related experience required. Trade or technical school training preferred.
  • Background and Certifications: Background check clearance required. HUD, OSHA, REAC, and ECT or related training preferred.
  • Communication and Technical Skills: Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing. Good organization and computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office and other related software.
  • Transportation and Insurance: Valid driver's license, in good standing for the state of residency required. Access to reliable transportation required. Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury, and property damage required.
