Position Overview:
The Surgical Technologist plays a critical role in maintaining a sterile environment in the operating room. This position requires vigilance in applying proper aseptic techniques to prevent contamination and infection. The Surgical Technologist assists the surgical team by passing instruments, sutures, and sponges during procedures, ensuring efficient turnover of surgical cases, preparing the operating room, and caring for surgical instruments and equipment. Additionally, this role includes performing delegated patient care tasks and being available for on-call duties.
Education Requirements:
- Completion of a Nursing or Surgical Technologist program.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Surgical Technologist Certification (required).
- BLS Certification (or to be obtained within 6 months of hire).
- Current Montana Nursing License (for LPNs only).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understanding of basic medical terminology and anatomy.
- Proficiency in aseptic and sterile techniques.
- Basic computer and keyboarding skills.
