Position Overview:
The Surgical Technologist is responsible for maintaining a sterile environment in the operating room, ensuring that proper aseptic techniques are consistently applied to prevent contamination and infection. This role involves assisting the surgical team as the sterile member, passing instruments, sutures, and sponges during procedures. The Surgical Technologist also aids in the efficient turnover of surgical cases, prepares the operating room, and ensures the proper care of surgical instruments and equipment. Additionally, this position includes performing delegated patient care tasks and may require being on call.

Education Requirements:

  • Completion of a Nursing or Surgical Technologist program
Licenses/Certifications:
  • Surgical Technologist Certification
  • BLS Certification (or to be obtained within 6 months of hire)
  • Current Montana Nursing License (for LPNs only)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Understanding of basic medical terminology and anatomy
  • Proficiency in aseptic and sterile techniques
  • Basic computer and keyboarding skills
