Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Gastroenterology Associates of the Piedmont PA. As a LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in our GI clinics.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for rendering nursing care in assigned areas, according to individualized patient needs, and under the direction of the nurse manager, registered nurse, or physician.

Responsibilities:
  • Obtains, verifies, and records health history of patients.
  • Gathers pertinent health data through physical assessments and biological samples.
  • Collects specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Provides basic patient care as ordered. Administers medications and treatments as directed.
  • Captures and records date of last colonoscopy or lack of.
  • Documents care provided or procedures performed accurately on patient records.
  • Assists other health care professionals in performing exams, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
  • Adheres to infection control/safety guidelines and confidentiality policies.
  • Participates in the development of the plan of care with other team members and safely implements that plan.
  • Follows set protocols/standing orders/algorithms/decision trees established by the physician.
  • Documents assessments, interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, and test results in medical records.
  • Promotes wellness by providing patient education materials and communicating physician advice/instructions.
Requirements:
  • Licensed Practical Nurse, currently licensed in North Carolina.
  • Previous experience with Epic preferred.
  • Current BLS training required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in medical specialty practice preferred.
  • Bilingual skill a plus.
