Position Overview

SUMMARY:

The role requires a comprehensive understanding of nutritional science to deliver exceptional care across all age groups, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations served by the Food & Nutrition Department. Responsibilities include providing inpatient nutritional guidance, assessing dietary needs, calculating nutritional requirements, evaluating nutrition support adequacy, and recommending interventions for enteral and parenteral nutrition. Additionally, participation in community nutrition initiatives and collaboration with the healthcare team is essential to ensure optimal nutritional outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Conduct thorough Nutrition Assessments utilizing validated methodologies, incorporating the five domains of nutrition assessment, and adhering to comparative standards as outlined in the International Dietetics and Nutrition Terminology Reference Manual.

2. Identify and articulate specific nutrition-related issues that require intervention, linking these to measurable goals and appropriate strategies to track progress toward desired outcomes.

3. Design and implement targeted actions aimed at modifying nutrition-related behaviors, risk factors, or health conditions for individuals or community groups.

4. Monitor and evaluate key indicators and outcomes related to nutrition diagnoses and interventions, adjusting strategies as necessary to ensure the effectiveness of care.

5. Uphold the dignity and respect of all patients, families, and colleagues, aligning with the organizational philosophy.

6. Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, sharing expertise in nutrition and management to achieve shared objectives.

7. Commit to ongoing professional development, demonstrating accountability for maintaining high standards of safety and quality in service delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics.

Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in Dietetics and Nutrition is preferred.

Licensure: Registered Dietitian (RD) and Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (CDN) credentials are required for outpatient coverage.

Work Type: Per Diem

Work Schedule: Day shifts, varying hours.

Department: Dietary Services

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate.
