About the Role

Cadrex is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality standards of our company are met in the products we produce for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Facilitate and assist with managing small scope quality engineering projects, including influencing objectives, timelines, work schedules, and leading communications within the plant.
  • CAPA Team Member: Participate as a member of the CAPA Corrective Action System team for the Business Unit; lead Corrective Action Teams for both Internal and Externally required CAPAs.
  • Quality Engineering and Communication: Assist with communicating broad quality engineering and related manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Corrective Action Requests: Review corrective action requests, inspection and audit results, failure reports, customer documentation, and other areas as required.
  • Investigations and Inspections: Interpret results of inspections, audits, and reports and implement solutions.
  • Team Leadership: Lead assigned teams in investigations, inspection programs, advanced testing, and related areas.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Develop and review reports, documents, and tests, and adjust operations or activities as needed.
  • Customer Support: Assist QEs with investigating customer questions and concerns.
  • Supplier and Management Communication: Respond to a variety of broad questions and concerns from suppliers, and management regarding quality programs, test results, interpretation of findings, corrective actions, and other areas.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver internal presentations and training as required.
  • Policy and Procedure Application: Interpret and apply department policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations; ensure compliance with these areas.
  • Staff Leadership: Serve as a lead to staff to include assigning and monitoring work and providing direction.
  • Product Disposition: Reject products not meeting specifications and hold further processing or shipment until non-conformances are resolved.
  • Product Authorization: Authorize disposition of non-conforming products.
  • Product Release: Approve products for manufacturing and shipment.
  • Quality Standards and Procedures: Interpret tolerances, drawings specifications, quality standards and procedures, or other part acceptance criteria for production personnel.
  • Internal Communication: Communicate directly with internal departments on Quality matters.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Statistical Tools and Software: Ability to use statistical tools and/or software, performance measuring system analysis and methods.
  • Quality Principles and Practices: Ability to apply basic quality principles and practices and lead teams using Problem Solving Methodologies such as 8D.
  • Manufacturing Experience: Experience in a sheet metal manufacturing environment, Green Belt, ISO 9000 Auditing.
  • Blueprint Reading Certification: Blueprint reading certification.
  • ASQC Certification: ASQC a plus.
  • Basic PC Skills: Basic PC skills with proficiency using MS office suite.
  • ERP System Experience: Experience using an ERP manufacturing system.
  • eDrawings and SolidWorks: Ability to use eDrawings and SolidWorks a plus.
Education

Candidates should have:

  • High School Diploma: High school diploma.
  • Trade School Certification/Degree: Trade school certification/degree preferred.
Work Environment

This role will be based in a manufacturing environment with:

  • Manufacturing Equipment: Work near moving mechanical parts and vibration.
  • Electrical Safety: Occasional risk of electrical shock.
  • Noise Level: Moderate and occasionally loud noise level.
Physical Demands

This role requires:

  • Standing and Sitting: Regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear.
  • Lifting and Moving: Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Vision Requirements: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
