Job Summary

The Health Education Specialist will be responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and facilitating human growth and development education, HIV/AIDS education and prevention, along with other health-related education trainings in elementary grade levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and schedule health education programs for elementary grade levels.
  • Facilitate human growth and development education, HIV/AIDS education and prevention, and other health-related education trainings.
  • Support health education in a comprehensive capacity, providing resources and support to students, staff, community members, and serving as a liaison for the education work of Tulsa Public Schools and partners.
  • Lend support to the Lead Health Education Coordinator in scheduling and coordinating health education that takes place in secondary schools and other district sites.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in health education, teaching human growth & development, sexuality education, or reproductive health education, or in a related field.
  • One (1) year experience working in a K-12 school setting serving low-income students and communities.
  • Experience working with a variety of agencies and community resources involved with diverse populations of students and families.
  • Experience working with adolescents in a group setting and running groups.
  • Comprehensive command of human growth & development health information, pregnancy prevention, and basic health counseling skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
