Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, a leading non-profit, acute care teaching hospital, is located in Los Angeles, California. Our Pharmacy Department consists of approximately 450 skilled professionals who deliver comprehensive inpatient and outpatient pharmacy services. We are dedicated to the education and training of pharmacists, students, residents, technicians, and other healthcare professionals, in collaboration with various Schools of Pharmacy.

Position Details

The Transitions of Care Pharmacy Technician will work evening shifts, assisting pharmacists with medication reconciliation. Responsibilities include interviewing patients, gathering and updating medication histories, and accurately documenting this information in the electronic medication record. All tasks are performed independently under the guidance of a pharmacist.

Qualifications

Educational Background:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the California State Board of Pharmacy.

Experience:

  • Background in Pharmacy or relevant training is essential, demonstrating integrity, reliability, and professionalism.
  • Ability to interpret physician orders and perform calculations for compounding.
  • Exhibit precision and punctuality in all work tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Must be proficient in English.
  • Experience with calculations involving ratios and percentages is required.
  • Exceptional customer service skills are a must.
  • Outpatient experience and knowledge of medication indications are advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Training will be provided.

Job Requirements:

  • Proficiency in using various equipment such as calculators, computers, and automated dispensing machines is necessary.
  • Specialized training may be required for specific areas such as OR/ER and Sterile Manufacturing.
