Salary and BenefitsThe estimated salary for this position is between $20,820 and $25,510 per year, based on location and experience. Job DescriptionAs a Child Care Teacher, your primary responsibility will be to create and manage a nurturing environment conducive to the learning and safety of children enrolled at the child development center. You will work closely with student assistants and credit students to ensure a seamless educational experience.
Required Skills and Qualifications- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Three semesters (45 clock hours) of approved infant/toddler coursework or six semesters (90 clock hours) of approved early childhood coursework
- Nine clock hours of approved training
- Three clock hours in Americans with Disabilities (ADA) compliance
- Infant-toddler teacher must have approved training in supporting breastfeeding practices
- One year of supervised experience working with preschoolers in an approved setting, college (30 semester hours), or a combination of both
- Human relations skills
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with small children and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Criminal and child protective services background checks, current infant and child CPR certification, current first aid certification, pre-employment medical report, and approval from the Maryland Department of Education, Office of Child Care required

- Short-term Disability Insurance: Eligible full-time employees can take short-term disability coverage for non-occupational injuries or illnesses.
- Long-term Disability Insurance: Eligible full-time employees receive long-term disability coverage for non-occupational injuries or illnesses.
- Retirement: Full-time and part-time support staff members are enrolled in the State Retirement and Pension System (SRPS) of Maryland.
- Tuition Waiver: Eligible full-time employees and their family members can take tuition waivers for credit and community and continuing education courses offered by the college.
- Reimbursement for Undergraduate & Graduate Studies: Eligible full-time employees can take tuition reimbursement for satisfactory completion of undergraduate and graduate course work beyond the associate degree.
