Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining robust accounting controls and processes. This position will focus on month-end closing activities and the preparation of financial statements that adhere to GAAP standards.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the Accounting Manager to enhance the accounting function and foster strong relationships across various branches within the organization.


Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Fundamental accounting experience (public accounting background preferred) with a solid understanding of US GAAP
  • Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Proactive mindset with a willingness to explore best practices in a multi-entity, multi-location environment

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of month-end journal entries, including biweekly payroll entries
  • Conducting bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Creating balance sheet reconciliations for all organizational entities
  • Preparation and analysis of financial statements
  • Compiling PBC documents necessary for audits and tax filings
  • Supporting the development of a control environment and documenting accounting processes
  • Preparation of sales tax returns
  • Handling special projects and ad-hoc requests as needed
