About the Role

Zscaler is seeking an experienced Staff Site Reliability Engineer (Federal) to join our ZPA team. This is a hybrid role, requiring on-site presence in a Boston office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee operational tasks for FedRAMP cloud products, including deployments, on-call duties, and incident management.
  • Manage all cloud infrastructure components, such as AWS GovCloud, private cloud environments, containers, and VMs.
  • Develop operations documentation, handle escalations, and implement measures to prevent recurring incidents while contributing to DevOps best practices.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, with relevant experience in an Operations or Engineering environment.
  • Experience with High/Moderate FedRAMP authorization levels and monthly monitoring programs (scanning, evaluating, patching, and reporting on environment vulnerabilities).
  • Hands-on experience with Linux administration, basic network troubleshooting, and infrastructure as code and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
  • Coding experience (preferably Python) and expertise in container-based architectures (AWS ECS / Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of virtualization, cloud architecture and services, automated deployments, web security, and protocols (HTTP, SSL/TLS, DNS, SQL) and networking fundamentals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with High/Moderate FedRAMP authorization levels, including monthly monitoring programs (scanning, evaluating, patching, and reporting vulnerabilities).
  • Information Assurance Technician Level 2 certification or willingness to complete the certification within a few weeks of employment.
