Position Summary:

Calo Companies is seeking a dedicated Equipment Loader Operator to contribute to our operations. This role involves working with various machinery to efficiently handle and transport materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate front-end loaders, forklifts, and other machinery to transport soil, rock, and landscaping materials.
  • Load materials into designated areas and customer vehicles.
  • Conduct daily inspections of equipment before and after use, including routine maintenance such as greasing, oiling, and fueling.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain accurate records.
  • Promote a culture of safety by assessing risks prior to tasks, performing only authorized activities, and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Monitor machinery performance for any signs of malfunction and report issues to the maintenance team.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience operating front-end loaders and forklifts.
  • A strong commitment to teamwork and safety.
  • A professional demeanor when interacting with colleagues and the public.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Familiarity with various landscaping materials.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • The capability to work independently when necessary.

  • A willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Outdoor work environment.
  • Frequent walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, stretching, and sitting.
  • Ability to perform various physical activities including bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, turning, climbing, and crawling.
  • Awareness of potential hazards associated with heavy machinery and vehicles in the work area.
