Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Load and unload materials from storage, production areas, and delivery vehicles.
  • Sort and separate high-grade metals and remove non-conforming materials.
  • Operate and maintain heavy equipment, including front-end loaders, manlifts, and yard vehicles.
  • Perform physical labor tasks using standard hand tools and equipment.
  • Identify scrap materials and their grade and type.
  • Position trailers and containers around the yard and empty gaylord boxes as required.
  • Remove fluids from incoming materials or vehicles.
  • Perform cleaning duties and assist mechanics with equipment maintenance.
  • Interact with customers and drivers to direct or assist them.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, or 1+ years of equipment operator experience.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain accurate records.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to climb ladders or steps and lift up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to dust, dirt, and extreme climate conditions.
