Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Geohazard Mitigation Specialist to join our growing team in Westminster, CO. As a key member of the Design Engineering Team at GeoStabilization International, you will play an integral role in building world-class geohazard designs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work closely with engineering staff and Project Development Engineers to develop economical solutions and designs for challenging geohazard issues, including slope stability, rockfall, ground improvement, difficult-access shoring, or foundations.
  • Perform site reconnaissance and slope investigation through steep terrain, using techniques such as high rope access and rappelling when necessary.
  • Conduct engineering calculations and analyses, including slope stability modeling, rockfall simulation, geotechnical and structural analysis of mechanical stabilization, and foundation design, and prepare detailed written reports.
  • Critically review plans and specifications, and develop project take-offs and construction estimates.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (Masters of Science preferred) with at least 4 years of experience.
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and AutoCAD, with experience in Rocscience software suite (Geostudio or other limit equilibrium software familiarity likely translatable) preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification required.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions that can be physically demanding, with up to 25% travel required.
  • Must be able to perform administrative duties from a variety of locations, including a truck, home office, or field settings.

GeoStabilization International offers a competitive salary range of $97,000 - $120,000 per year, with a hybrid work schedule that includes in-office days on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, as well as remote work options on Mondays and Fridays.
