About the Role

Willis Mechanical is seeking a highly skilled Master Ammonia Refrigeration Technician to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial and industrial refrigeration systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Operation and Maintenance: Observe and test industrial refrigeration system operation to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on ammonia refrigeration systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure smooth operation.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Troubleshoot issues with refrigeration systems and perform repairs independently, using your technical skills and knowledge.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with other team members to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Document all repair details in accordance with company procedures to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining parts and supplies inventory to ensure needed equipment is available for prompt repairs.
  • Health and Safety: Maintain safe working environments by complying with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of work experience in refrigeration service with ammonia.
  • Certifications: Graduation from a technical school or program in the area of study, and CARO and CIRO certifications.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to inspect equipment, identify potential problems, and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Independence: Ability to troubleshoot and perform repairs independently.
  • Physical Examination: Pass a physical examination and respirator fit testing.
  • Availability: Availability to be on call on nights and weekends, as needed.
  • Communication and Customer Service: Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Technical Proficiency: Basic technical skills and ability to use computers and electronic systems.
  • Work Ethic: Organized, self-motivated, and a strong work ethic.
Benefits and Compensation

Willis Mechanical offers a competitive compensation package, including a vehicle, fuel card, and uniforms. Experienced Ammonia Refrigeration Technicians receive paid holidays and three weeks of Paid Time Off. The employees' health, dental, and vision insurance is covered by Local 72. Employees also have access to the Willis Mechanical 401K program.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position, working 8 hours/day, Monday through Friday. Day travel to new customers and job sites is expected.
