Position Overview:

The Systems Engineer plays a crucial role in the success of assigned projects at DCS Corp.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversees systems engineering tasks including:

  • Requirements analysis
  • Functional analysis
  • Formulation of design solutions
  • Systems analysis and control
  • Creation and upkeep of systems architecture documentation

Utilizes systems engineering methodologies to convert defined needs into measurable system performance criteria and identifies system configurations.

Drafts and disseminates systems engineering documentation, processes, and timelines.

Possesses comprehensive knowledge of the Systems Engineering Management Process and its application to the Department of Army/DOD Acquisition process across all lifecycle stages. Familiarity with DOD regulations on Systems Engineering, Integrated Product and Process Development (IPPD), and IPT Management is essential. The role requires the ability to collaborate and negotiate engineering activities with various programs and organizations, providing expert guidance on critical projects and technologies.

Acts as the subject matter expert for all technical dimensions of the assigned project.

Technical Duties:

Engages in high-level design, development, integration, testing, installation, and troubleshooting.

Translates military operational and mission needs into actionable system concepts and performance standards.

Creates and maintains technical documentation, including specifications, engineering drawings, system interface requirements, and engineering modifications.

Participates in post-award program evaluations, design assessments, and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) as the lead engineer or technical authority on designated projects.

Assesses design initiatives to ensure the integration of all engineering disciplines and the adequacy of analyses conducted, bringing in additional technical expertise as necessary.

Reviews testing plans, procedures, and reports for technical soundness on assigned projects, covering both Government and contractor tests, as well as all failure reports.

Evaluates system performance against specification criteria, monitors field performance, and assesses risks related to meeting user and specification requirements.

Initiates engineering change proposals and waivers/deviations as necessary, and conducts physical and functional configuration audits.

Reviews program management documentation to verify the accuracy and sufficiency of technical content.

Qualifications:

Due to the sensitive nature of customer requirements, U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering coupled with 8 years of relevant experience is required.

A DoD Secret clearance is mandatory.

The candidate must be a subject matter expert in Systems Engineering and possess the capability to lead engineering initiatives on assigned projects with minimal oversight from Government leadership.

Equivalent experience in line with DAWIA Level II SPRDE certification is acceptable.
