Summary/Objective:

The Fayetteville Woodpeckers are on the lookout for a vibrant individual to take on the role of 'Bunker' the mascot, responsible for captivating and entertaining audiences at Segra Stadium. The ideal candidate should possess a lively spirit, be sociable, and have experience in the performing arts sector. This role entails participation in all home games and various community events throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage and connect with fans both at the ballpark and within the community.
  • Adhere to the schedule provided by the Ballpark Entertainment Coordinator to ensure Bunker is present for all in-game activities.
  • Act as Bunker's handler during non-performance times.
  • Participate in community events as required.
  • Represent the Woodpeckers with professionalism.
  • Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Exuberant personality and high energy levels.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Preferred background in performing arts or dance.
  • Strong communication skills, particularly through body language to engage with fans.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliability and commitment to the work schedule and mascot duties.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Prior experience in entertainment as a performer is advantageous.
Work Environment:

Most of the time will be spent outdoors. The role may require functioning in a highly active and crowded outdoor sports venue. Employees may also encounter varying weather conditions for extended periods while fulfilling job responsibilities.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively. The employee frequently stands, walks, uses hands for various tasks, and reaches with arms. Specific vision abilities required include close and focused vision.
  • Must meet current mascot costume size requirements.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and climbing stairs.
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods.
  • Must be capable of lifting regularly and consistently.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a part-time, seasonal role. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Availability is required to arrive up to one hour before game time.

Travel:

Some travel may be expected in this position.
