The successful candidate will collaborate with fellow administrators to address service requests and resolve technical issues efficiently. Key responsibilities include diagnosing incidents, proposing corrective measures, and implementing solutions to prevent future occurrences. This role also involves analyzing current systems for performance improvements and providing ongoing operations and maintenance support in a complex enterprise setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and monitor Microsoft Windows systems in both physical and virtual setups.
  • Assist in the deployment, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems, distinguishing between individual user issues and broader system problems.
  • Support the operations and maintenance of end-user workstations, including desktop applications.
  • Lead data collection and analysis efforts to develop and implement solutions for incident management.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous operational improvements.
  • Document and develop solutions for intricate technical challenges.
  • Provide detailed follow-up reports for Root Cause Analysis and process enhancement initiatives.
  • Support customer needs in a 24/7 operational environment, including on-call support during off-hours.
  • Update operational documentation for continuous monitoring and support.
  • Ensure the security and management of Windows servers across multiple production environments.
  • Troubleshoot complex integration and technical issues related to Windows and Hyper-V.
  • Automate tasks through scripting and testing methodologies.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; additional experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Experience in supervising technical teams.
  • Proficient in Windows server setup, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of hardening Windows environments.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Server operating systems (2012 R2/2016/2019).
  • Familiarity with integrating Windows environments with monitoring tools like Microsoft SCOM and Splunk.
  • Experience supporting virtual desktops running Microsoft Windows.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills, particularly with PowerShell.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting within a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with log analysis and incident trend identification.
  • Knowledge of server patch management practices, such as SCCM.
  • Experience in managing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, and other Microsoft products.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to work independently within an IT Service Management framework.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to set and achieve project goals.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills.

Certifications
  • DoD IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP along with a relevant computing environment certification).

Clearance Requirements
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Active CI Polygraph or willingness to obtain one.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with AWS or Azure cloud services.
  • Experience in operating and maintaining Linux systems.
  • Certification in Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or MCSA.
  • Experience with SAN or network storage management.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies.
  • Understanding of Hyper Converged Infrastructure (HCI) concepts.
  • Experience in security-focused troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of backup and restore procedures.
