Job Summary

The Paramedic acts as the primary director of care in emergency and non-emergency situations by providing efficient and immediate care for patients. Responsible for examining, evaluating and providing quick diagnoses in order to administer immediate and proper medical care. Responsible for providing basic medical support including CPR, AED, ventilation, controlling hemorrhaging, etc. The Paramedic also performs more invasive techniques to stabilize the patient's condition. The Paramedic is responsible for documenting all aspects of care provided under their direction by EMS services. Operates the ambulance in various road conditions to safely transport patients to medical facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient and immediate care for patients in emergency and non-emergency situations
  • Examine, evaluate, and provide quick diagnoses to administer immediate and proper medical care
  • Provide basic medical support including CPR, AED, ventilation, and controlling hemorrhaging
  • Perform more invasive techniques to stabilize the patient's condition
  • Document all aspects of care provided under their direction by EMS services
  • Operate the ambulance in various road conditions to safely transport patients to medical facilities

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Current Missouri licensure as E.M.T.- P
  • For-hire driver's license (Class E) or greater (CDL) for operation of an ambulance in the state of residence
  • BLS due within 90 days of hire
  • ACLS due within 1 year of hire
  • PALS due within 1 year of hire
