Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Team Leader Coach or Assistant Team Leader, the Retail Store Associate is primarily responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring facility security and upkeep, greeting and assisting donors, and sorting donations into appropriate categories for resale, salvage, or disposal.

Key Responsibilities:

Donor Interaction:

  1. Welcome donors in a friendly and courteous manner, assisting with the unloading of donations and providing tax receipts while maintaining accurate donation counts.
  2. Sort donations into categories of salable, salvage, and trash, ensuring non-salable items are appropriately handled.
  3. Manage trash disposal by moving it to the compactor as necessary and operating the compactor safely.
  4. Comply with all organizational policies and procedures, prioritizing safety and security by reporting any hazards or injuries to the Team Leader Coach.
  5. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Team Leader Coach or Assistant Team Leader.

Pricing Duties:

  1. Price merchandise using established pricing systems, including special items of notable value.
  2. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, ensuring safety practices are followed.
  3. Complete other duties as directed by the Team Leader Coach or Assistant Team Leader.

Sorting and Grading:

  1. Organize salable apparel in the designated hanging area, ensuring garments are tagged correctly.
  2. Maintain a clean and orderly sorting and processing area at all times.
  3. Follow all safety and security protocols, reporting any issues to the Team Leader Coach or Assistant Team Leader.
  4. Execute additional responsibilities as assigned by the Team Leader Coach.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to lift up to 45 lbs, with frequent bending, pushing, pulling, or reaching.
  2. Capability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.

Working Environment:

Work may involve exposure to varying temperatures.

Interpersonal Skills:

  1. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members, customers, and donors.
  2. Exhibit a positive, friendly demeanor and maintain a neat, professional appearance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Ability to bend, reach, and stand for long periods, with the capacity to lift up to 60 lbs regularly.
  2. Proficient in reading, writing, verbal communication, and basic math skills.
  3. A high school diploma or GED is required.
  4. Must successfully pass a drug and criminal background check.
  5. Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Supervision:

This position does not supervise others.
