POSITION SUMMARY:
This role is essential for maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the educational facility and its surroundings. The individual will foster positive relationships within the community and ensure a welcoming environment for all stakeholders.

The custodian may also be required to cover shifts at various locations as directed by the Operations and Maintenance Director or Supervisor.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Execute cleaning and maintenance tasks to uphold the site’s standards.
2. Prepare and dismantle setups for events and activities.
3. Assist in managing inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
4. Conduct snow removal from pathways and designated areas.
5. Build rapport with students, staff, and parents to proactively address potential issues.
6. Participate in professional learning communities and required training sessions.
7. Apply acquired knowledge and skills to enhance site operations.
8. Perform additional duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION:
No direct supervisory responsibilities.

RESOURCE MANAGEMENT:
Independently prioritize and schedule tasks. Develop and implement efficient processes for managing materials and supplies. Maintain accurate records in line with professional standards and organizational policies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or equivalent is required. Bilingual skills are preferred. One year of relevant experience is advantageous. Familiarity with plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems is preferred. English proficiency will be assessed during the interview process.

CERTIFICATIONS:
Valid Driver's License and certifications in CPR and First Aid are required.

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:
The ideal candidate will be adaptable to change, possess technology skills, and have knowledge of cleaning equipment and materials. They should be able to work effectively with a diverse student population and collaborate with colleagues and supervisors. The ability to follow complex instructions and work independently is essential. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are necessary, along with a positive attitude and adherence to organizational policies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position involves frequent lifting of 5 to 20 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. The role requires frequent bending, standing, walking, and occasional climbing and kneeling.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Exposure to dust, odors, and occasional hazardous materials is expected. The role may also involve working in varying weather conditions.

REPORTS TO:
Operations & Facilities Supervisor or designated representative.

COMPENSATION:
Hourly wage ranges from $17.84 to $20.18, based on education and experience.
