Position Summary

We are in search of an Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to provide comprehensive care to patients in the stepdown/progressive care unit as part of the Critical Care Center within Memorial Hospital. This role is vital in addressing the medical and psychosocial needs of our patients, establishing and assessing care standards, and engaging in research essential for delivering exceptional, evidence-based care.

WHO WE ARE:

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will become part of a team comprising over 800 Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants at MSK, all of whom are devoted to delivering compassionate, comprehensive cancer care to patients and their families, while upholding the mission, philosophy, standards, goals, and objectives of our institution and department.

Work Schedule: Nights from 7pm to 7:30am, with a commitment of 13 shifts per month, including weekend and holiday rotations.

You Will:

• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to provide care for high-acuity medical and surgical patients in a stepdown/progressive care unit.

• Ensure the provision of exemplary nursing care and foster an environment centered on the needs of patients and their families.

• Act as a clinical expert and resource, offering education and consultation to healthcare team members.

• Engage in process improvement initiatives, implementation of patient education, and clinical support programs.

Qualifications for PA Candidates:

• Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program.

• NCCPA certification.

• Active New York State license or eligibility for state licensure.

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (ICU or Step-down) is preferred.

• BLS and ACLS certifications.

Qualifications for NP Candidates:

• Current New York State RN and NP licenses/registrations (ACNP preferred).

• Master’s degree in nursing, with prescriptive privileges (or eligibility).

• 3+ years of relevant clinical experience (ICU or Step-down experience preferred).

• Related National NP certification.

• BLS and ACLS certifications.

Compensation: Pay Range $144,000 - $182,000.
