We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at US Oncology Network-wide Career Opportunities. As an Advanced Practice Provider, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals dealing with cancer and related diagnoses.
Responsibilities:- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients.
- Initiate and document appropriate interventions; evaluate and record patient/family response and prescribe therapies as indicated.
- Perform procedures with minimal supervision.
- Assess patient/family needs and provide education.
- Promote wellness and recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs.
- Often incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice.
- Solid knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
- Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
- Likely to provide case management for patients and their families.
- Sometimes serves as a resource for nursing staff by providing information being studied in clinical trials.
- May provide palliative care for the patient and their families as needed.
- May promote/provide staff education.
- Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals, weekend or after-hour calls.
- May mentor new advanced practice providers.
- May precept APP students.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Nurse Practitioner: Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
- Physician Assistant: Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification.
- Clinical Nurse Specialist: Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Specialist program.
