Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter/Paramedic to join our team at the City of Waukesha Fire Department. As a Firefighter/Paramedic, you will be responsible for responding to emergency calls, providing medical care, and performing various fire ground functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to alarms and perform fire ground functions as a member of a firefighting company or EMS unit.
  • Operate and maintain fire department vehicles and equipment.
  • Provide basic and advanced emergency medical care to citizens of the community.
  • Prepare written reports and maintain records under supervision of a Company Officer.
  • Participate in daily training exercises and classroom lectures.
  • Perform duties as an Equipment Operator, Fire Lieutenant, or Paramedic as assigned.
Requirements
  • 18 years of age
  • High school graduate or recognized equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • State of Wisconsin Firefighter I Certification (Firefighter II preferred)
  • State of Wisconsin Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) License (Paramedic preferred)
  • Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) certification
