Patient Care Associate

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Assistant II to join our Emergency Department team at Rady Children's Hospital. As a key member of our care team, you will provide direct patient care and support to our medical and behavioral health patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including assisting with vitals, applying splints, and supporting procedures.
- Collaborate with our care team to ensure safe and effective patient care.
- Assist with rooming patients, providing comfort care items, and cleaning rooms.
- Step into the role of hospital unit clerk as needed, answering phone calls and managing internal and external communications.
- Monitor patient behavior and document changes, engaging in safe distractions and therapeutic conversations.
- Proven experience as a PCA or in a related healthcare role.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, with BLS certification and completion of a CNA or Medical Assistant program.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and strong communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including night shifts and weekends.
- Associate's Degree or higher.
- Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or unit clerk role.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills.
Rady Children's Hospital offers competitive compensation, with an expected hiring range of $20.96 to $28.81 per hour. Compensation decisions consider a variety of factors, including experience, education, and internal equity.
