The role of the Group Leader encompasses overseeing various elements of the pheresis process and plasma collection while strictly following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory guidelines:
- Facilitate donor preparation, supervision, and disconnection throughout the pheresis process.
- Execute venipuncture to initiate the pheresis procedure in accordance with SOPs and regulatory standards.
- Assess donor vein functionality, implement necessary adjustments, and guarantee both donation effectiveness and donor well-being.
- Inform new donors about therapeutic products derived from donated plasma and the policies of the center.
- Observe donor responses, utilize documentation tools to log incidents, and provide technical training to team members.
- Ensure smooth donor flow, conduct equipment calibrations, troubleshoot any operational issues, and maintain precise donor data recording.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-supplied work environment.
- Uphold confidentiality and may receive cross-training in additional areas as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- At least 18 months of experience in a medical or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Specialized training in medical or phlebotomy practices is advantageous.
- Ability to make moderate-impact decisions.
- Must possess attentiveness, effective communication skills, and the capability to perform physical tasks.
- Operate in a dynamic environment with occasional exposure to hazardous materials and bloodborne pathogens.
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment and may need to work overtime as necessary.
