Job Overview

Position Summary

This role is integral to the success of the Artemis Launch Control System (LCS) project, collaborating closely with the EGS C3 Systems Engineering manager. The primary focus will be on monitoring the development, fulfillment, and resolution of subsystem-level requirements, ensuring that all necessary specifications for the Artemis LCS are accurately documented in the relevant requirements tracking database and testing protocols. Proficiency in Systems Engineering and Integration, along with a solid understanding of software development and testing methodologies, is essential. Innovation and creative problem-solving are highly valued in this position.

Key Responsibilities

The Command, Control and Communications (C3) Launch Control System (LCS) Ground Integration Engineer (GIE) is responsible for managing LCS Program Requirements while ensuring comprehensive tracking of the LCS Validation & Verification objectives. This role also involves maintaining the technical baseline for LCS and overseeing the software development process for LCS Subsystems to ensure compliance with C3 LCS Program Requirements. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating and approving LCS System Verification & Validation (V&V) Test Procedures and Test Reports.
  • Assessing and endorsing LCS Subsystem CSCI/HWCI Design Documents and Test Procedures.
  • Supporting LCS Subsystem Test Readiness Reviews.
  • Advocating for LCS Requirements, which encompasses (1) modifying LCS Program requirements and Stakeholder expectations; (2) managing Change Requests (CRs) from initiation to completion; (3) drafting and championing EGS Waivers/Deviations and facilitating resolutions between development and Operations.
  • Executing GIE duties during LCS VSR & Certification Reviews.
  • Reviewing and approving LCS System V&V test evidence to fulfill LCS Program requirements and Stakeholder Expectations per the approved baseline.
  • Monitoring and participating in LCS Analysis tasks as necessary.
  • Providing weekly status reports on LCS GIE activities to C3 and presenting updates at C3 Integration meetings.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

Preferred familiarity with the following tools: ClearQuest, Accurev, CodeCollaborator, Windchill, Cradle, OMRS Database, KDDMS, Maximo, TechDoc, Version One.

Required expertise: Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.

Necessary skills: Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, self-motivated with the capacity to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative team environment.

Educational Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering is required; a Master's degree is preferred (years of experience may substitute for a Master's degree). A comprehensive understanding of theories, concepts, and practices is essential, with the ability to apply this knowledge in complex scenarios.

10+ years of relevant experience is mandatory.
