Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Engineering Assistant to join our team at the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. As a Graduate Engineering Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our transportation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform load rating analyses under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.
  • Analyze bridges for use by overweight and oversized vehicles.
  • Communicate with the Division of Motor Carriers when bridges are overstressed by those loads.
  • Assist the Chief Bridge Inspector and district bridge engineers with routine, NSTM, in-depth, and special bridge inspections.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited engineering program.
  • Bridge inspection or construction experience.
Working Conditions

This position may require work in the office and/or the field. A valid driver's license is required for employment in this job classification.
