Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team at Student Transportation of America. As a Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for performing complex operations on large commercial vehicles, including engine, electrical, fuel, brake, and exhaust repairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform thorough, accurate preventative maintenance inspections.
  • Complete all required maintenance operations, including lubrication, fluid changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotation.
  • Perform unscheduled maintenance as needed, under the direction of the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Perform complex operations, including engine, electrical, fuel, brake, and exhaust repairs, and field tests.
  • Perform emergency roadside services as needed.
  • Inspect equipment and diagnose mechanical defects.
  • Document repairs and parts on work orders completely and accurately.
  • Maintain tools and workplaces in a neat and orderly condition.
Requirements
  • A/B Technician certification preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or mechanic preferred.
  • Accreditation from a school or certification program preferred.
  • Complete all training requirements.
  • Pre-employment background checks.
