We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Data Solutions Architect to join our team at Applied Information Sciences. As an employee-owned company, we value innovation and emerging technologies, and we are looking for individuals who share these passions.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in architecting data solutions using microservices principles with Databricks on Azure and Collibra. They will be proficient in using SQL, Python, and R for data transformation and analysis, and have a deep understanding of Databricks workflows and deployment processes.

The successful candidate will lead the design and architecture of data solutions, develop and implement data models that support business intelligence tools, and create, manage, and optimize data pipelines for high-volume production systems. They will also work in an Agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to iteratively develop and deliver data products.

Key qualifications include 5-7 years of experience in developing cloud-based data solutions, with a strong emphasis on Azure, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. The Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional Certification is required, and Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) and Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) certifications are preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and architecture of data solutions using Azure Databricks, Collibra, and other Azure services, following microservices principles.
  • Develop and implement data models that support business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Cognos, and Tableau.
  • Create, manage, and optimize data pipelines for high-volume production systems.
  • Use programming languages such as SQL, Python, and R to access, transform, and analyze data.
  • Deploy and manage Databricks notebooks and workflows to streamline data processing and analytics.
  • Work in an Agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to iteratively develop and deliver data products.
  • Continuously optimize data pipeline performance to ensure efficiency and reliability in data processing.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI data models, ensuring they meet business requirements and performance standards.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience in developing cloud-based data solutions, with a strong emphasis on Azure.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional Certification.
  • Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) and Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) certifications preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Extensive experience in architecting data solutions using microservices principles with Databricks on Azure and Collibra.

  • Expertise in data modelling for business intelligence platforms like Power BI, Cognos, and Tableau.

  • Strong experience in Agile methodologies and collaborative development environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with additional Azure services and tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about data solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
