Job Summary:

The City of The Dalles is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team. As a sworn law enforcement officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting the community, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce laws and regulations to maintain public safety and order
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide assistance to the public
  • Conduct investigations and gather evidence to solve crimes
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations to build relationships and prevent crime
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices and procedures

Requirements:

  • Must have an Oregon DPSST Basic Law Enforcement Officer Certificate (or higher)
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and at least 21 years old
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check and psychological evaluation

  • Competitive salary range: $5,000 to $7,073.18 per month
  • Certification bonus for certifications above basic
