Assembly Lead 2nd Shift Opportunity

At Powell Houston-Canton, we are seeking a skilled Assembly Lead to join our 2nd shift team in Houston, TX. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for supporting the facility's production objectives and leading a team in the assembly process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direction and guidance to hourly employees in the department
  • Organize job duties and oversee training for new hires, ensuring matrix requirements for cross-training are met
  • Mentor and facilitate safety squad/safety program activities
  • Organize and prioritize daily workflow to meet customer delivery dates
  • Create work orders and write HFDs
  • Proficient in multi-tasking multiple areas within the department
  • Adapt to change based on customer requirements and needs
  • Troubleshoot machine problems and make recommendations when necessary
  • Work with engineers, supervisors, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and meet customer demand
  • Coordinate inventory cycle counts and forecasting for raw and external vendor-related materials
Requirements:
  • Previous leadership experience (lead person, crew leader, etc.)
  • Multi-tasking, organizational skills, and communication are essential for this role
  • Experience with PCs and Windows software; database experience preferred
  • Able to read technical documents, such as technical manuals and mechanical engineered drawings
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000 Quality system
What We Offer:

$20 - $25 / hr
