Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Oncology Nurse Navigator to enhance our oncology services. This role is essential in guiding new patients through their journey, ensuring they comprehend their referral process, and preparing them to actively engage with our healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Engagement: Initiate contact with patients prior to their first consultation, providing support and information.
  • Coordination of Care: Facilitate multi-disciplinary appointments and outline the anticipated next steps for patients and their families.
  • Addressing Barriers: Identify and mitigate any obstacles to care that patients may encounter.
  • Support Transition: Assist patients during their initial transitions of care, ensuring a smooth process.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of three years of relevant clinical experience in adult or pediatric oncology.
  • Possession of an unencumbered Oregon State Board of Nursing RN license.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing is required for external candidates.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
  • Experience in ambulatory care oncology and care coordination is preferred.
  • Certification in oncology (Oncology Certified Nurse – OCN) is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt in high-pressure situations.
Work Schedule

This position operates on a 5x8 hour schedule, from 0800 to 1630, Monday through Friday, providing a structured work environment.
