Position Overview

ASRC Federal Data Solutions, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, is in search of Linux Systems Administrators across mid, senior, and subject matter expert levels to enhance our NOAA programs.

Work Environment:

This role is a fully on-site position located in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive support for Linux systems operating on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, patching, backing up/restoring virtual machines, deploying new virtual machines, and collaborating with application teams on middleware support.

Specific Duties:
  • Ensure a stable Linux environment
  • Implement monthly server patches or as required to address vulnerabilities
  • Utilize Ansible Tower for managing and maintaining the Linux environment
  • Develop Ansible scripts to enhance system administration tasks
  • Oversee Puppet for compliance management of the Linux environment
  • Administer and maintain Satellite server along with its repositories and associated devices
  • Manage Red Hat Identity Management servers and oversee certificate and PKI infrastructure
  • Demonstrate proficiency in VMware ESXi infrastructure and deploying virtual machines
  • Configure and install virtual desktop infrastructure and enterprise backup solutions
  • Optimize system utilization for memory, processes, and network performance
Qualifications:

All candidates must be U.S. citizens to comply with government access requirements.

Subject Matter Expert Level:
  • 12+ years of experience in planning, designing, and implementing virtual environments
  • Must possess Red Hat Certified Engineer – RHCE certification
  • Experience with hardware/software/storage in an enterprise data center
  • Expertise in Ansible and Linux environment management
  • Knowledge of Red Hat Identity Management, Red Hat PKI infrastructure management, and VMware ESXi
Senior Level:
  • 8 – 12 years of experience in planning, designing, and implementing virtual hardware/software/storage in an enterprise data center
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator – RHCSA
  • Expertise in Ansible and Linux environment management
  • Knowledge of Red Hat Identity Management, Red Hat PKI infrastructure management, and VMware ESXi
Mid Level Linux Systems Administrator:
  • 4-8 years of experience in planning, designing, and implementing virtual hardware/software in an enterprise data center
  • Basic knowledge of Ansible and Linux environment management
  • Familiarity with Red Hat Identity Management, Red Hat PKI infrastructure management, and VMware ESXi
