About the Role

Patterson Companies, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Service Technician to join our Dental Service team in the DFW area. As a Service Technician, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional customer service and technical expertise to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and/or Repair Dental Equipment: Safely remove, modify, repair, and install various dental equipment under general supervision with the ability to work independently after training.
  • Follow Checklists: Ensure all critical parts are examined and follow checklists to guarantee a high level of quality and efficiency.
  • Demonstrate Knowledge: Demonstrate knowledge on the installation procedures and jobsite protocol, as well as apply specific manufacturer and Patterson guidelines, OSHA and other applicable laws and regulations related to asepsis.
  • Customer Service: Supports customer needs through responding in a timely and professional manner, demonstrating passion and a people-first approach by treating customers in a respectful and considerate manner.
  • Communication: Understands and conveys information to our customers, listens attentively and asks questions when necessary, and uses general terminology to explain technical aspects of using technology to a non-technical audience.

  • Inventory Management: Determines parts, supplies, or tools needed to complete service requests, manages vehicle inventory, and restocks as necessary.
  • Personal/Vehicle Safety: Safety is a primary focus for the Patterson Dental service department, and each employee must maintain a quality driving record and represent Patterson Dental while driving a company vehicle.
Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Required
  • Strong Work Ethic: Possesses a strong work ethic and takes ownership of both company and customer goals/objectives
  • Customer Focus: Focused on understanding, meeting, and exceeding customer expectations
  • Ability to Thrive in a Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic Computer Skills: Requires basic computer skills and/or ability to use a smartphone/tablet
  • Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid Driver's License: Valid driver's license along with a good driving record
  • Lifting Ability: Must be able to lift 25+ lbs
Preferred Qualifications
  • Trade School Training: Trade school training in carpentry, plumbing, heating, electricity, or electronics is highly desirable but not required
  • Excellent Organization and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent organization and problem-solving skills
  • Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Teams Knowledge: Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Teams is helpful
