Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse Job Description

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse to join our team at the New Brunswick campus.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care to critically ill children in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill children, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patient responses.
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care transitions.
Requirements:
  • ASN or Nursing Diploma
  • PALS certification
  • 3-5 years of pediatric RN experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient computer skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire
  • 1-2 years of PICU RN experience highly preferred
