Recognizing the vital contributions of our Engineers in safeguarding public health and the environment, we are offering financial incentives to attract talented individuals to our team.

Incentive Structure:
Sign-On Bonuses are determined by the classification of the position:

  • $4,000 for Engineer I
  • $5,000 for Engineer II
  • $6,000 for Engineer III
  • $7,000 for Engineer IV
These bonuses will be distributed in two payments: one after three months of service and the second after eighteen months of employment.

New hires who accept this recruitment bonus are required to commit to a minimum of two consecutive years of employment within the Engineer classification series.

Summary of Responsibilities

The Division of Air Quality is tasked with monitoring and regulating air emissions. This includes issuing permits for construction and operation of air contaminant sources, maintaining emission inventories, and developing the State's implementation plan in accordance with the Clean Air Act.

Two positions are available under this announcement, both aimed at enhancing air quality and integrating environmental considerations into transportation planning and decision-making processes. These roles will focus on bridging the gap between transportation, land development, and community planning.

Responsibilities include:

  • Drafting and modifying engineering designs, plans, and specifications.
  • Reviewing permit applications and designs to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Applying scientific and mathematical principles to develop solutions for technical challenges.
  • Conducting field studies and inspections to gather data and ensure adherence to laws.
  • Testing materials and systems, and coordinating engineering projects.
  • Providing technical guidance and training to junior staff.
Qualifications

To qualify for the Engineer I position, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields: Chemical, Civil, Environmental, Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering, or have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination.
