Position Overview

As an integral part of the anesthesia team, you will provide essential support to Anesthesiologists and Anesthetists by ensuring the proper functionality and availability of anesthesia equipment and supplies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair, and set up all anesthesia apparatus, ensuring cleanliness of smaller devices such as laryngoscopes.
  • Procure necessary supplies, including noncontrolled medications, in a timely manner while managing inventory levels for anesthesia carts.
  • Conduct minor repairs and maintenance on equipment as needed.
  • Assist in the transportation of equipment and patients as required by anesthesia personnel.
  • Prepare surgical charts for upcoming procedures and manage any schedule adjustments.
  • Perform routine cleaning of anesthesia machines, including bi-monthly deep cleaning protocols.
  • Ensure proper storage and defrosting of drug refrigerators.
  • Check in blood products for surgical procedures as mandated.
  • Participate in the emergency response plan as part of the call list.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

The candidate must possess the necessary knowledge and skills to provide appropriate care and support, particularly for patients of various developmental stages. Key competencies include:

  1. Ability to gather and interpret relevant information to meet patient needs.
  2. Understanding of growth and development principles.
  3. Awareness of the range of treatments required for different patient demographics.

Competency Requirements
Demonstrated competency is essential, with validation through orientation and ongoing assessments to perform tasks and responsibilities as outlined in the job description.
