Nuclear Med/PET Tech

Job Summary:

Shields Health Care Group is seeking a skilled Nuclear Med/PET Tech to join our team. As a Nuclear Med/PET Tech, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and operating PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of radioactive isotopes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety.
  • Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of radioactive isotopes.
  • Inform patients of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
  • Perform all hot lab responsibilities.
  • Ensure patient clearance of all contraindications and hazards.
  • Accurately position patients and ensure their comfort.
  • Maintain visual and verbal contact with patients during exams.
  • Complete all forms pertaining to patient exams.
  • Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
  • Provide and issue films when appropriate.
  • Forward PET-related data to Radiologist upon completion of exams.
  • Refilm cases as time allows.
  • Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
  • Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.
Requirements:
  • State license for the state(s) in which employed to work.
  • Certified in CPR.
  • Registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.
  • A minimum of one-year prior nuclear medicine experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in starting IVs.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to assist patients with mobility difficulties.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.
Internal/External Interactions:

Extensive interactions with all customer groups, including patients, families, referring community, and other SHC employees.
