Job Title:

Nuclear Medicine/PET Technologist

Job Summary:

Shields Health Care Group is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine/PET Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for operating PET equipment to produce high-quality images and measuring concentrations of radioactive isotopes in specific body areas and body products.

Responsibilities:
  1. Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
  2. Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of radioactive isotopes in specific body areas and body products.
  3. Inform patients of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
  4. Position patients accurately and ensure their comfort.
  5. Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
  6. Provide and issue films when appropriate.
  7. Forward PET-related data to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
  8. Refilm cases as time allows.
  9. Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
  10. Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.
Requirements:
  • State license for the state(s) in which employed to work.
  • Certified in CPR.
  • Registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.
  • Minimum of one-year prior nuclear medicine experience.
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties. Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.

Internal/External Interactions:

Extensive interactions with all customer groups, including patients, families, referring community, and other SHC employees. Will also have regular interactions with contractors, vendors, and medical transport personnel.
