Agriculture Teacher Job Description

Alleghany High School is seeking a qualified Agriculture Teacher to join our team. As an Agriculture Teacher, you will be responsible for providing instruction and guidance to students in the Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources Cluster (AFNR) and Power, Structural, and Technical Systems pathway (PSTE).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement instructional programs that meet the needs of students in the AFNR and PSTE pathways.
  • Provide instruction and guidance to students in the classroom, laboratory, and other settings.
  • Supervise students during off-campus activities, such as conventions, contests, and field trips.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to develop and implement curriculum and instructional programs.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to improve teaching skills and stay current with best practices in agriculture education.
Requirements:
  • Hold or be able to hold certification in Agricultural Education (license code 700) or Welding Education (license number and designated as highly qualified).
  • Have a strong understanding of agriculture education and the ability to develop and implement instructional programs that meet the needs of students.
  • Be able to work effectively with students, parents, and other staff members to achieve educational goals.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:

The Agriculture Teacher will work in a fast-paced environment with a diverse group of students, parents, and staff members. The teacher will be required to work a standard school day, with occasional evening and weekend events.
