Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative Associate to join our team at UnitedHealth Group. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring seamless registration processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and welcome patients in person, providing a warm and welcoming experience.
  • Collect and verify demographic and insurance information, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Check in and interview patients to complete necessary paperwork, ensuring a smooth registration process.
  • Direct patients to their appointments or procedures, providing clear instructions and support.
  • Assist with scheduling add-on appointments and resolving claim issues or registration errors.
  • Document patient information and issues in our electronic medical record system.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits information, interpreting results and resolving complex billing situations.
  • Collect co-pays or deductibles and provide information on financial assistance programs.
  • Screen and approve patients for financial assistance programs, assisting with application processes.
  • Provide technical direction and support to colleagues, ensuring a high level of customer service.
Requirements
  • 6+ months of customer service experience, with a focus on healthcare or a related field.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work standard daytime hours, with flexibility to work 4-hour shifts and every other Saturday.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older, with a high school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Revenue Cycle experience, with a focus on healthcare registration and billing.
  • General office experience, with a focus on customer service and data entry.
  • Epic experience, with a focus on electronic medical records and healthcare software.
Physical Demands
  • Consistent walking, standing, bending, and turning, with occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds.
