Registered Nurse Manager - General Operating Room

We invite skilled nursing professionals to elevate their careers within our esteemed 800-bed academic medical center, equipped with state-of-the-art surgical facilities.
The University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) serves as the flagship of the University of Maryland Medical System, encompassing a comprehensive 789-bed downtown campus and a 177-bed midtown facility. We are home to specialized centers such as the Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center and The R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, recognized as the highest-volume trauma center nationwide.
We seek dedicated Registered Nurses to contribute to our nursing team at UMMC.
Position Responsibilities
Under general administrative guidance, the Manager of Patient Care Services (PCS) is responsible for overseeing the delivery of patient care services that align with the organization's strategic objectives, ensuring clinical excellence, financial viability, and high-quality service delivery across various clinical units or care settings. This role includes:
- Accountability for the quality of clinical services provided and the performance of nursing personnel.
- Designing and implementing systems that promote effective multidisciplinary teamwork and continuity of care.
- Active participation in organizational project teams and workgroups.
- Ensuring that regular patient care rounds are conducted to maintain high standards of service.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required; a Master's degree with management coursework is preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland or eligibility for licensure through Compact state agreements is required.
- A minimum of three years of clinical experience is required.
- Certification as a CNOR is preferred.
