Our initiative, the Learning Community Center of South Omaha (LCCSO), collaborates with families to bridge the educational opportunity gap through early childhood education, family involvement, and teacher training. We are looking for a dedicated Family Engagement Specialist to fulfill a vital role in our organization.

The Family Engagement Specialist will be tasked with connecting families in South Omaha to our programs and our overarching mission. The LCCSO is committed to supporting parents and their young children, working alongside them to leverage their existing knowledge and cultivate new skills that foster a nurturing learning environment at home.

This position is a full-time evening role.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. A Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social Work, or a related discipline OR equivalent professional experience utilizing educational strategies to promote child development is essential.
  2. Proficient communication skills in both English and Spanish, including written, verbal, and presentation abilities.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
  4. A valid driver's license and automobile insurance, along with a clean driving record.
  5. Proven ability to work autonomously while remaining committed to team objectives.
  6. Experience in building rapport and establishing connections with diverse populations.
  7. Capacity to generate creative solutions and alternatives for work tasks.
  8. Willingness to travel for workshops, training sessions, meetings, and in-service events.
  9. Flexibility to work occasional evenings.
