Join Our Team as a GIS Analyst Intern

The Henry Ford is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented GIS Analyst Intern to join our team. As a GIS Analyst Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including building interactive map experiences, developing impact and success stories, and delivering marketing/audience segments.

About the Role

We are looking for a talented individual with a strong academic background in Geographic Information Systems, Urban Planning, Policy & Research, and a passion for equity, access, and inclusion. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in working with ESRI and supporting products, as well as basic knowledge of programming languages commonly used in GIS, such as Python, R, or JavaScript.

Responsibilities
  • Work on a variety of projects, including building interactive map experiences, developing impact and success stories, and delivering marketing/audience segments.
  • Collaborate with the lead innovator of the Innovation Atlas and the Head of Analytics & Business Intelligence to contribute to the success of ongoing and forthcoming projects.
  • Develop and maintain spatial data and maps using ESRI and supporting products.
  • Work with web APIs to download and retrieve data, and use tools or libraries for API integration.
Requirements
  • Academic background in Geographic Information Systems, Urban Planning, Policy & Research.
  • Proficiency in working with ESRI and supporting products.
  • Basic knowledge of programming languages commonly used in GIS, such as Python, R, or JavaScript.
  • Curiosity, dedication to collaboration and teamwork, and ability to ask for help.
